Irradiation Introduction
The sensor operates on the thermoelectric effect principle. Sensing components use winding plated multi-contact thermopiles with surfaces coated in a high-absorptivity black coating. Hot junctions are on the sensing surface, while cold nodes are located in the inner chamber. Temperature difference potential between cold and hot junctions produces an output signal proportional to solar irradiance within the linear range. A temperature compensation circuit minimizes temperature effects. Two-layer quartz glass covers, produced via precision optical cold process grinding, protect against environmental influences.
